THE BASICS
Conway, Ark. – The Eagles used a balanced scoring attack and a strong first half to take a 62-50 season-opening win against Hendrix College Wednesday night. The Eagles built a 17-9 first quarter lead that eventually developed into a 27-15 halftime advantage. At one point, the Eagles held a 14-1 lead. Into the second half, the Eagles never relinquished the lead behind balanced offensive play. In the fourth quarter, Hendrix never really made a serious threat as the Eagles continued to build on its lead. Brittany Temple scored 13 points to lead the Eagles. Newcomer Naomi Smith pulled down a team-best 12 rebounds. The Eagles hit 42 percent from the field while Hendrix made 27 percent.

TURNING POINT
The Eagles raced out to a 17-9 first quarter lead and never looked back. At the end of the first half, the Eagles owned a 27-15 advantage.

Four of the Eagles' starters reached double figures in scoring. The Eagles also forced 20 turnovers. Newcomer Naomi Smith pulled down 12 rebounds.
