THE BASICS
Memphis, Tenn. – A late fourth quarter surge by Rhodes College lifted the Lynx past the Eagles 55-43 on Friday night in Memphis. The Eagles held a 26-21 halftime lead and then went into the fourth quarter trailing by just one point, 34-33. The Eagles and Lynx went back-and-forth over the next five minutes. Britany Temple made a layup at the 5:28 mark to cut the deficit to 45-41, however, the Eagles would score just two more points. Rhodes finished off the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run. In the game, the Eagles made 18-of-64 (28%) from the field while Rhodes shot 37 percent. Both teams hit only 15 percent from the three-point line. Naomi Smith led the Eagles with ten points.
