San Antonio, Texas-The U of O men's and women's clay target teams had impressive showings at the Association of College Unions International Collegiate National Tournament in San Antonio March 29-April 3.

76 universities were represented and nearly 700 student-athletes competed in the six-day event held at the National Shooting Complex. Ozarks competed in all six competitions, including American Skeet, American Trap, International Skeet, International Trap, Five Stand and Sporting Clays. As a team, Ozarks top score came in International Trap when it totaled 256 points for a ninth-place finish, with the trio of Grace Brown (88 pts.), Regan Puryear (87 pts.) and Paul Jarvis (81 pts.) leading Ozarks.    
    
Individually, Brown won a silver medal in International Trap (Class B) and Olympic Trap (Class B). Jarvis won a silver in Five Stand (Class C) and International Trap (Class C). Additionally, Caleb Hemphill tied for third in American Trap (Class C).

Puryear was Ozarks high overall top scorer on the men's side. The freshman was 200^th overall out of  nearly 400 competitors. Brown was 55^th overall to finish as Ozarks high overall female scorer.

"When we established the team in 2010, our objective was to compete in international events," said head coach Mike Qualls. "We are not only competing now, we are medaling in those events. I'm happy with how we performed as a team. Our team leaders continue to shoot well and others have stepped up. We also had athletes that recorded their highest overall scores ever. The whole team represented our university well. I also appreciate our families and friends who attended and supported the team."

As a team, Ozarks finished 24^th overall in the National Tournament. Qualls said the Sportsman Channel will show part of the event at a future date.

Ozarks will travel to Tillar, Ark., for the Arkansas State Collegiate Shoot April 8-10.
