Brown, Mills Named Athletes of the Year At OZZY Awards

Clarksville, Ark.-The first annual University of the Ozarks OZZY awards took place Tuesday, April 25 in the Rogers Conference Center where numerous student-athletes and teams were honored for their outstanding athletic and academic seasons.

Headlining the award winners were the 2016-2017 Athletes of the Year Grace Brown and Thomas Mills. Brown, a junior member of the shooting sports team, won a national championship in international bunker trap in 2017. Mills, a senior member of the men's soccer team, was named First Team All-Conference as a forward. The American Southwest Conference Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor honors went to women's basketball player Bryanna Moltz and men's basketball player Dillon Gash.

Team of the Year: Clay Target Shooting Team
Most Spirited Team: Wrestling
Best Moment of the Year: Men's Soccer overtime game-winning goal against Mary Hardin-Baylor
Most Improved Male Athlete of the Year: Ny'Trell Dean, Wrestling
Most Improved Female Athlete of the Year: Hailey Ostrander, Women's Basketball and Softball
Most Improved Team of the Year: Competitive Cheer
Coach of the Year: LeRoy Gardner, Wrestling
