History Made! Men’s Wrestling Team Competes In Program’s First-Ever Match

Arkadelphia, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's wrestling team competed in its first-ever wrestling match Friday, November 14, at the Greg Hatcher Dual on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

The Eagles seized the opportunity, winning the school's first match 30-18 against Arkansas Baptist College in its second opportunity of the day. Ozarks would compete against nationally-ranked NCAA III opponent Alma College to open the historic day, but suffered a 60-0 loss. Ozarks then took a 54-6 setback against Lyon College in its final match of the day.

Zack Hall, a senior from Story, Ark., would record the program's first individual win against Arkansas Baptist. In the win over Arkansas Baptist, Edladin Harmon would also post an individual win. Ozarks would wrestle Lyon College in its third match, but also dropped it. Brad Rupert took a victory for Ozarks.

"It was exciting to wrestle today," said head coach Jason Zastrow. "It was a good opportunity to figure out what we need to work on. This was a chance for our guys to come out and compete." 

Ozarks will travel to Indianola, Iowa, for the Simpson College Invite December 6.
