ON THE MAT
The Eagles competed in the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Missouri, Saturday with Nathan Rankin leading the way with a first-place finish at 125. Rankin defeated Jay Branch of Williams Baptist (TF 15-0) and then topped Dustin Miller of Lyon College (Maj 13-3) to advance to the finals. There, he faced teammate Devon Jackson and won (Dec 8-7). In the 184-pound weight class, Andrew Cannon defeated Zach Benner (MFF). Also at 184, Alejandro Ordonez posted a win over Darius Nathan (Dec 7-2). Miguel Baray also posted a win at 184 over Garrett Gibson (Maj 9-1). Baray then topped Braden Zini (Dec 5-2). At 285, Evan Sharpe defeated Davroy Atkinson.
