Wrestling Excited For NCAA III Regional Action

The NCAA III Regional will be held in Iowa.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's wrestling team is set to compete in the 2020 NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional Championships Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1 in Dubuque, Iowa.

Sessions I/II begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, followed by sessions III/IV/V on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at the Five Flags Center. Loras College serves as the host and is one of six hosts around the country who will each send 30 wrestlers to the NCAA Division III National Championship March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Fans can watch the live action here: TRACKWRESTLING

The Eagles placed ninth last season, with heavyweight Jerhett Lee advancing to the NCAA III National Championships. Lee was third in the Regional a year ago. Lee remains the No. 2 ranked wrestler in NCAA III. Nathan Rankin (125) will be among the other Eagles looking to qualify for Nationals. Rankin qualified his freshman season and is nationally ranked No.14 in his weight class.

"We're excited about Regionals," said head coach LeRoy Gardner. "The guys have put a lot of work in and have been committed in order to have the opportunity to compete here. We look forward to representing our program, the university and all the places we come from. We love this opportunity and this is no doubt what we train for."
