Eagles Post Another Impressive Non-Conference Win

THE BASICS
The Eagles are on a three-match unbeaten streak following a 5-1 win over NAIA Lyon College Wednesday night. The freshman duo of Gisselle Estrada and Hannah Smith each scored twice in another impressive victory for the Eagles. Rebecca Peterson also scored for the Eagles. Estrada scored in the 17th minute and Peterson later followed in the 30th minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 halftime edge. The Eagles made it 3-0 after another Estrada goal. Smith scored her second of the match just about one minute later. With the Eagles cruising, Smith added her final goal in the 82nd minute. Lyon College eventually broke the shutout with less than two minutes remaining. In all, the Eagles had another strong offensive effort recording 15 shots and five corner kicks. Starting goalkeeper Kiara Henry made her own highlight in the 55th minute with an athletic diving save on a shot from Kimberly Fretwell.
