Fall ASC All-Academic Team Announced

The 2019 Fall ASC All-Academic team was released recently with 27 from Ozarks.

Clarksville, Ark.-27 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2019 Fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office January 29.

To be eligible for ASC Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.

The women's cross country team had one athlete on the team: Areli Moreno, a senior health science major from Katy, Texas.

The men's cross country team had five athletes on the team: Petron Brown, a sophomore environmental studies/business administration major from Nassau, Bahamas; Aaron Capehart, a senior physical education/health science major from Siloam Springs, Ark.; Michael Harris, a senior health science major from Elkins, Ark.; Jaeden Miller, a junior biology/education major from Canyon, Texas; and Nathaneal Rankin, a junior undeclared major from Plano, Texas.

The men's soccer team placed nine athletes on the team: Giorgio Baudin, a senior business administration major from Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Juan Cano, a junior business administration major from Santa Clara, Belize; Pedro Gallaga, a sophomore political science major from Willis, Texas; Daniel Gomez, a sophomore mathematics major from Comayagua, Honduras; Truman Hensley, a sophomore undeclared major from Montgomery, Texas; Lorfils Milord, a sophomore business admininistraion/mathematics from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; Peter Ralph Severe, a junior business administration major from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; Logan Valestin, a junior biology major from Bryant, Ark.; and Norlin Vicente, a sophomore business administration from Flores, Guatemala.

The women's soccer team placed 12 athletes on the team: Breanna Aguilar, a junior biology major from Aledo, Texas; Skylar Brown, a sophomore business administration/health science major from Maumelle, Ark.; Terri Brown, a junior health science major from Olive Branch, Miss.; Makayla Davis, a junior elementary education major from Springdale, Ark.; Brittany Holt, a senior biology major from Mansfield, Texas; Joey Long, a junior biology major from Cabot, Ark.; Rebecca McCarron, a senior health science major from Covington, La.; Gracie Millar, a sophomore biology major from Larue, Texas; Rebecca Peterson, a junior environmental studies from Coweta, Okla.; Christina Waddle, a junior environmental studies major from Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Lara Wadle, a sophomore English major from Grapevine, Texas; and Micaela Winters, a senior psychology major from Fort Smith, Ark.

Ozarks' student-athletes have posted a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or higher since the 2017-2018 academic year. The athletic department has also produced 13 Academic All-Americans since 2006.
