Women’s Soccer Team Volunteers At M.A.C. Industries Valentine’s Dance

For the third year in a row, the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team provided community service through a Valentine's Dance for Clarksville's M.A.C. Industries.

Clarksville, Ark. – For the third year in a row, the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team provided community service through a Valentine's Dance for Clarksville's M.A.C. Industries.

Members of the U of O team afforded the M.A.C. clients with a fun evening of dancing throughout the evening. According to head coach Natalie Dryer, the team looks forward to the dance every year and will continue the tradition. The team not only danced with the clients, but they also were able to spend one-on-one time to form new friendships.

"We enjoyed this so much," said freshman Hannah Smith. "The clients made it fun, so we had fun. They thanked us and had a blast. Sometimes, we get consumed with the grind of being student-athletes, but this got us out of our comfort zone. I love helping in this environment. I did similar projects in High School so I am glad I get the opportunity to continue it at Ozarks."

Under the direction of Dreyer, the team has provided community service in a variety of ways, including assisting with Operation Christmas Child, helping with basketball tournaments, and serving food at a Thanksgiving Dinner. The team has also enjoyed doing projects at U of O's popular spring Field Day activity and providing reading services at Clarksville Elementary School.
