Women’s Soccer Players Honored By ASC

Five members of the women's soccer team made the All-Conference Team.

Clarksville, Ark.- Five University of the Ozarks women's soccer players were honored by the American Southwest Conference as All-Conference performers, it was released today.
     
Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Frazier was named to the All-ASC Third Team, while senior defender Skylar Brown, senior forward Breezie Davis, junior midfielder Jessica Alvarado and junior midfielder Kailey Barnes made the All-ASC Honorable Mention Team.

Frazier, a native of Lake Dallas, Texas, ranked second in the ASC in saves with 113. She led the league in saves per game at 8.07. Frazier started in 14 matches and totaled 1285 minutes during the season. She posted three shutouts and had ten or more saves three times. In an overtime tie against East Texas Baptist, Frazier totaled 16 saves. All three of her shutouts were overtime ties, including back-to-back shutouts against East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau. She received ASC Defensive Player of the Week once during the season.

Brown, a native of Maumelle, Ark., played in 11 games and produced one goal and one assist. She took eight shots. Brown's defensive play helped the Eagles produce back-to-back shutouts in conference play during a key conference stretch in October. She had a season-high three shots against Mississippi University for Women. She has seven career goals and four career assists. She is a two-time All-Conference player.

Davis, a native of Coweta, Okla., was among the most dynamic players in the ASC. She ranked ninth in the league in shots with 36 and tenth in shots per game (2.25). She led the team with four goals and eight points while playing in all 16 games. 20 of her shots were on frame and she had five or more shots against four different opponents. She had a two-goal performance against Austin College.

Alvarado, a native of Springdale, Ark., was one of only two players to start in all 16 games. Alvarado recorded two assists and took 26 shots, second-most on the team. 12 of her shots were on frame. She had the assist on the game-winning goal against Sul Ross State. She has played in 42 career games and has totaled 14 career points. She is a two-time All-Conference player.

Barnes, a native of Roanoke, Texas, was one of only two players to start in all 16 matches. Barnes created opportunities for the Eagles to score throughout the season. She also had ten shots, with six on frame. Barnes' steady defense fueled the Eagles to three shutouts. Barnes is a three-time All-Conference player.
