Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks junior goalkeeper Melanie Glossup was named the American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday, September 18.         
     
Glossup, a native of Allen, Texas, guided the Eagles to a pair of wins over the weekend while helping the team tie a program record with five shutouts on the season. Glossup played all 90 minutes of each game and totaled seven saves to pick up two wins. Behind Glossup's play in goal, the Eagles are off to their best start in program history at 5-1-0. On the season, Glossup owns a 0.57 goals against average.
     
The Eagles will host Hendrix College September 20 and Southwestern Christian on September 22.
