Swim Team Competes In Day Two At Hendrix

Conway, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's and men's swim teams competed in the Hendrix College Classic Saturday morning.

With the combined scores from Friday and Saturday at Hendrix, the men's team finished third overall. The women's team finished fourth overall.

On Saturday, both programs had several standouts at the meet. According to head coach David DeGeus, there were big time drops for the new swimmers. Kaitlyn Henrietta broke a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke. She swam a 3:32.69 to finish in fourth place. She placed ninth in the 50-yard free with a time of 30:49. She also had a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard free with a time of 1:05.31.

On the men's side, Max Wheeler broke the school record in the 1000-yard free posting a 14:21.84. Austin Waters broke the school record in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:25.75. Dylan Gehrels placed fifth in the 50-yard free with a time of 25:93. Michael Walkine finished fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:33.78. In the 400-yard free relay, Kim  Gyeongju, Waters, Jacob Toland and Walkine placed fourth with a time of 3:43.36.

The Eagles will compete in Sherman, Texas, at the Austin College/Colorado College Double Dual November 4.
