Women’s Tennis Team Begins 2015 Fall Season With Loss Against Hendrix College

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's tennis team held its first match of the 2015 fall season by hosting NCAA Division III opponent Hendrix College Tuesday.

The Warriors (1-0) took a 9-0 victory over the Eagles (0-1). Hendrix started the day by taking all three doubles courts. Following doubles play, Hendrix recorded singles wins in all six positions. According to head coach Cullen Dees, the young Eagles fought hard the entire afternoon.

"I was proud of the way we fought," said Dees. "They never gave up on balls and never hung their heads. We had a great attitude out there. Hendrix had to beat us."

Ozarks will head to Georgetown, Texas, to compete in the ITA Regionals September 18-20.

"This was a great tune-up for our weekend ahead," said Dees. "It is nice to play someone other than yourself. Our freshman can especially feel good about their first performance of the season. They should feel good about the way they are competing and take that type of attitude into the ITA."
