Women's Tennis Team Suffers Loss Against Toppers

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks posted a 7-2 loss against Blue Mountain College Saturday morning.

In doubles play, Blue Mountain took a 3-0 lead, but the No. 1 pairing of Alexis Rogers and Lexy Corona were defeated in a close tiebreak: 9-8 (7-3). As for singles, the Eagles posted a couple of wins. No. 1 player Alexis Rogers defeated Piper Johnson 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. No. 3 player Imani Doyle was victorious over Mattie Mills 7-6(2), 6-3.

"I feel like we came out with good energy today," said head coach Jeff Kutac. "In doubles, it was the best we have competed on all three lines. The ladies took that positive energy into singles play where Alexis and Imani were able to post solid wins."

The Lady Eagles will travel to play Texas Wesleyan on March 9.
