Clarksville, Ark.-The women's tennis team went on the road to Texas and defeated Texas Lutheran University 6-1 March 23.
The match was part of a road swing through Texas that saw the Eagles also play Southwestern University and Schreiner University. The Eagles started the day with a 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Anna Ryan and Alexis Rogers partnered to beat Allison Wise and Katie Niday. Lea Terrell and Skylar Frazier received a walkover win at No. 3 doubles. Leading the match 2-1, Kailtyn Gutierrez took a 6-0, 6-3 singles win at the No. 3 position. Ryan followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 spot to keep an undefeated record against the Bulldogs. The Eagles also netted wins at the No. 5 (Frazier) and No. 6 (Terrell) positions.
On the same day, Southwestern University took a 9-0 win over the Eagles. On March 24, Schreiner University defeated the Eagles 8-0 on the road.
The Eagles will host LeTourneau University April 2 and John Brown University April 6. Senior Day will be April 9 when the Eagles host East Texas Baptist University.
