Track Team Competes In Little Rock Open

Little Rock, Ark. - The University of the Ozarks women's and men's track team competed in the Little Rock Open Friday and Saturday in Little Rock.

Hannah Smith ran the 5K in 19:53.75 to finish third overall Friday night. Smith is the first female track athlete to break 20 minutes in the program's modern-day history. Layne Garcia finished fifth overall with a time of 17:02.14 and Jonathon Wood placed sixth with a time of 17:26.97 in the 5K on the men's side.

On Saturday, Wood ran a 57:28 in the 400-meter and Tyler O'Banion posted a time of 59:03. Jacob Williams placed tenth in the 100-meter against mostly NCAA I competitors, running a 11:15. Williams posted a 22:89 in the 200-meter for 15th place.

Jacquelyn Vaden ran a 1:08.9 in the 400-meter and a 29:79 in the 200-meter. Smith placed 13th in the 800-meter with a time of 2:37.97. Grasyn Langley posted a time of 2:55.14.

Ozarks will compete next weekend in the UCA Open April 15.
