Student-Athletes Named Chi Alpha Sigma Members

22 new Chi Alpha Sigma members honored.

Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks athletic department has announced its second class of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society members. The chapter at Ozarks includes 22 student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and competition.

Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who receive a varsity letter in their sport, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, display good character and earn a 3.40 or higher cumulative grade point average.

"We are proud of the work these student-athletes put forth in the classroom and the field of competition," said Athletic Director Jimmy Clark. "These are student-athletes who are consistent in their studies while managing the rigors of travel, practice and game days."

Chi Alpha Sigma is the first and only nonprofit organization that was established to recognize collegiate student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition from accredited four-year NCAA, NAIA, USCAA or NCCAA institutions. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.

Ozarks is one of just five institutions in Arkansas to have membership with Chi Alpha Sigma. 139 NCAA Division III institutions host a chapter.
