Caitlyn Bell Breaks 6K School Record

Memphis, Tenn.-Freshman Caitlyn Bell broke the 6K school record Saturday morning at the Rhodes College Invitational running a 25:25.46.

The previous record was 25:47 held by Ashley Teague, who set the mark in 2010 at the NCAA III Regional in Memphis.

Bell, from Hensley, Ark., finished 73rd overall at the race. Caitlyn Hill finished 126th overall with a time of 27:39.27. Nena Evans posted a time of 28:44.66 to finish 140th. Madison Sherrer was 142nd overall with a time of 29:03.02 and Stephanie Alderson placed 150th with a time of 30:22.17. Iman Turner ran a 37:39.74 for 172nd overall.

Ozarks finished 17 out of 22 teams. There were 180 runners in the race.

Ozarks will host the Ozarks Invitational October 10.
