Four Place In Top-40 At ASC Women’s Championships

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's cross country team had four runners in the top-40 to fuel a sixth-place finish at the American Southwest Conference Championships Saturday in Austin, Texas.

81 runners competed in the 6K race. Lindsey Rayborn from Texas Dallas won the race with a time of 22:59.4. Hannah Smith posted the team's highest finish with 21st place. She ran a 25:48.5, the fourth fastest 6K time in program history. Madison Sherrer ran a 27:20.7 to finish 32nd overall. Stephanie Alderson was 38th overall with a time of 27:53.5. Caitlyn Bell placed 39th overall with a time of 28:13.2. Jacquelyn Vaden ran a 29:54.8 for 54th overall. Denise Garcia posted a time of 32:50.6 for 70th place.
   
Last year the team finished fifth overall, but prior to that no other team had finished higher than sixth since 1999.
