  • ASC Delays Fall 2020 Schedule and Championships to Spring 2021

    Richardson, Texas --- The American Southwest Conference Council of Presidents announced today (July 24) delaying conference-scheduled competition and championship events for fall championship sports with anticipation of resuming ASC competition and tournaments in spring 2021. The delay includes the fall sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

    Clarksville, Ark.-27 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2019 Fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office January 29.
  • Women's Cross Country Competes In NCAA III Regional

    Memphis, Tenn.-Four women's cross country runners participated in NCAA III Regional Championships in Memphis November 16. The race was hosted by Rhodes College at Shelby Farms Park. The Eagles did not score as a team. Anya Sifuentes paced Ozarks with 164rd palce. She posted a time of 26:22.2. Sydney Pyle followed with a time of 27:14.0 for 185th. Silvia Chavez ran a 28:25.3 for 206th. Areli Moreno ran a 32:47.6 for 234th.

    Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks runners from the women's and men's cross country program will compete in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional November 16 in Memphis.
  • Women's Cross Country Team Places Eighth At ASC Championships

    Abilene, Texas-The Eagles placed eighth overall at the American Southwest Conference Championships Saturday in Texas. Anya Sifuentes was the team's highest finisher running a 26:07.3 for 33rd place. Silvia Chavez followed with a time of 27:28.0 for 46th place. Sydney Pyle was 50th running a 27:44.4. Andrea Garcia was 64th running a 29:16.6, Areli Moreno was 74th running a 31:16.4, Stephanie Trevino was 79th running a 32:42.8 and Leslie Hernandez was 80th running a 36:26.6.

    Little Rock, Ark.-The Eagles competed in the Little Rock Invitational Saturday at War Memorial Park. The Eagles placed 11thas a team. Anya Sifuentes was the team’s top finisher running a 22:45.2. The Eagles will now prepare for the American Southwest Conference Championships in Abilene, Texas, November 2.
  • Women's Cross Country Runs In Chile Pepper Festival

    The Eagles competed in the Chile Pepper Festival and placed 40th as a team. Silvia Chavez was the team's top finisher running a 22:28.6 for 244th place overall. Andrea Garcia ran a 23:08.2 for 269th place. Sydney Pyle ran a 24:43.2 for 312th place. Stephanie Trevino placed 336th with a time of 27:34.2. Areli Moreno placed 347th with a time of 30:53.8.
  • Women's Cross County Team Competes In Rhodes College Invitational

    The Eagles competed against numerous NCAA I universities at the Rhodes College Invitational. Silvia Chavez was the team's top finisher running a 26:23.0 for 126th place. Anya Sifuentes was next for the Eagles running a 27:05.1 for 136th place. Andre Garcia placed 147th with a time of 27:47.1. Stephanie Trevino ran a 31:25.0 for 167th place. Areli Moreno was 180th with a time of 35:56.2.
  • Silvia Chavez Is Second At U of O Invitational
    September 14, 2019
    Silvia Chavez posted a second-place finish at the 5K University of the Ozarks Invitational Saturday running a 21:50.6. Samantha Nickell from Henderson State won the race with a time of 20:27.6. Freshman Anya Sifuentes placed sixth overall with a time of 22:22.7. Andrea Garcia had a top-10 finish running a 22:26.3 for seventh place. The Eagles finished second as a team.

  • Garcia, Sifuentes Finish In Top-10 At Early Bird Eagles Opener

    Andrea Garcia paced the Eagles at the Early Bird Eagles Opener Saturday morning. Garcia placed fourth overall, while Anya Sifuentes finished sixth to lead the Eagles. Both just freshman, Garcia ran a 15:02.6 and Sifuentes ran a 15:21.8. Stephanie Trevino and Areli Moreno both had top-15 finishes for the Eagles.
  • 2019 Women's Cross Country Preview

    The women's cross country team continues to make strides as a program and aims for sustained success in 2019. The 2018 team won one home race and finished second in the other. Head Coach Heidi Pinkerton brought in a crop of four talented freshmen to add to the current team. Overall, Pinkeron is excited to see how the season will play out. "I am excited to see what we will accomplish this season. We don’t have one girl that is minutes ahead of everyone else. We have a young group. We have a good pack. I think if they work together, they can do some bigger things than last year. The girls are on board and want to improve. They are doing the small things and are holding one another accountable." Silvia Chavez returns for her sophomore campaign. "I think Silvia will do some great things for the team. Sydney will be  right there with Silvia."
