Hardin-Simmons Hits 70 Percent In Second Half To Earn Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Hardin-Simmons University shot 60 percent from the field and Derrick Jefferson scored 20 points, dished out seven and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Cowboys to a 113-96 American Southwest Conference win over the Eagles Thursday.

Hardin-Simmons (1-4, 1-3 ASC) hit eight three-pointers in the first half and led 57-43 at intermission. In the second half, the Cowboys continued to shoot well, hitting 17-of-24 (70%) from the floor.

Andrew Cummings led Ozarks (3-3, 1-2 ASC) with 21 points. Ted Beard IV, Jordan Kaluanga and Josh Berard each had 13 points.

Ozarks' game against Texas-Dallas has been postponed due to the weather conditions.
