THE BASICS
The Eagles defeated UT Dallas for the first time since the 2008-2009 season with a 81-76 win Saturday in American Southwest Conference play. The Eagles hit 55 percent from the field in the game to fuel the win. The Eagles went 13-of-29 (44%) from the three-point line. Grayson Nix came off the bench to provide a spark for the Eagles hitting 5-of-7 three-pointers and scoring 19 points. Tim Turpin was hot from beyond the arc, making 4-of-5 to finish with 14 points. The Eagles led 39-37 at halftime and UT Dallas tied it on the first possession of the second half, but the Eagles clung to the lead the entire second half. UT Dallas pulled with 62-60 with seven minutes remaining, but Nix hit a long shot to put the Eagles in control. He would drill another with 1:18 left to put the Eagles in front 78-71.

Bryson Johnson scored his 1,000 career point in the win. Johnson now has 1,003 career points, which puts him among the top-25 scorers at Ozarks. He is seventh all-time in career assists with 311.
