THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles improved to 7-1 and 2-0 in conference play with a 74-63 win over Howard Payne University Saturday afternoon. The Eagles did have to overcome a 38-30 halftime deficit. The Eagles outscored Howard Payne 44-25 in the second half. Howard Payne led by 11 points before the Eagles eventually made a run. The Eagles reeled off a 10-3 run ending with a Dillon Cheater three-pointer at the 10:45 mark to close the gap to 49-45. A pair of free throws from Sephfan Tabe put the Eagles ahead for good with 6:37 left in the game. The Eagles outrebounded Howard Payne 50-38 in the game. Grayson Nix led the team with 17 points. Josh Ukpe had 16, Cheater added 13 and Kamren Roelke finished with 11. Tylan Jackson pulled down ten rebounds.

TURNING POINT
The Eagles outscored Howard Payne 44-25 in the second half. The Eagles took the lead for good with 6:37 remaining in the game.

Josh Ukpe scored 11 second half points to complete a comeback for the Eagles. Ukpe made a pair of three-pointers in the second half.
