Men’s Basketball Players Receive All-Conference

Josh Ukpe and Grayson Nix were named to the All-Conference Team.

Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks men's basketball players Grayson Nix and Josh Ukpe received recognition from the American Southwest Conference (ASC), it was announced today.

Nix, a senior guard from Red Oak, Okla., and Ukpe, a junior guard from Bonham, Texas, were named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team.

Nix started in all 25 games and led the team in scoring (15.8) and three-pointers (58). He hit 74-of-98 (75%) from the free throw line and also made 58-of-174 (33%) of his three-point shots. The 6-foot-4 Nix reached double figures in scoring in 22 games. In his final collegiate game, he scored 34 points. He made a three-pointer in 23 games. He was among the ASC's top-20 in scoring, field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage. He finishes his career as a two-time All-Conference player, ASC Player of the Week and an ASC Champion. In his collegiate career, he scored over 1,000 career points. He made 126 career three-pointers during his time at Ozarks.

Ukpe ranked second on the team in scoring (15.5) and tied for the team-lead in rebounding (6.8). The 6-foot-3 Ukpe led the team in three-point percentage (35.8%) going 48-of-134. He also led the team in free throw percentage (81.2%) hitting 56-of-69. Against Millsaps, he drilled five three-pointers and had three other games where he hit four three's. He reached double figures in scoring 15 times and made a three-pointer in 19 games. Against McMurry, he scored 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He ranked among the ASC's top-15 scorers and three-point shooters. He was seventh in the ASC in free throw percentage and sixth in rebounding.
