Clay Target Team Posts Four Top-10 Finishes At Nationals

Jacob Tucker and the Eagles placed ninth at the 2023 National Tournament.

Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team posted four top-10 finishes at the ACUI/SCTP Clay Target National Championships in San Antonio. 
     
Overall, the Eagles placed ninth at the National Championships with a score of 2741. The Eagles also finished ninth last season. The Eagles were placed within the Division 2 category as a team and finished sixth among those teams. The Eagles finished among the top-10 in American Trap, doubles American Trap, Super Sporting Clays and Sporting Clays. In American Trap, the Eagles placed third overall with a score of 494. In doubles American Trap, the Eagles placed tenth overall at 445. In Super Sporting Clays, the Eagles placed ninth overall with 451. In Sporting Clays, the Eagles placed fifth overall with 424. Additionally, the Eagles placed 16th overall with 473 in American Skeet. In doubles American Skeet, the Eagles were 11th with 454.
     
The men's HOA for the Eagles went to Jacob Tucker, who finished 41st overall, and hit 548. Wyatt McCaghren was next on the team with 545 for 45th place. Lane Klohn had the third highest HOA for the team at 52nd. Klohn hit 544. Cameron Ziarko followed at 53rd with 544. Rounding out the top-5 for the Eagles was Levi Prestidge at 106th overall with 533. The women's HOA for the Eagles went to Kinley Cox, who finished 76th overall with a score of 432. Karlee McCaghren placed 88th with a score of 408.

In American Skeet, Cameron Ziarko was the team's top finisher at 61st with 97. In American Trap, Ziarko was the team's top finisher at 21st with 99. In Sporting Clays, Trey Greeson was the team's top finisher at 21st with 88. In Super Sporting, Ziarko was the team's top finisher at 45th with 92. In doubles American Skeet, Jacob Tucker was the top finisher for the Eagles placing 54th with 94. In doubles American Trap, Wyatt McCaghren was the top finisher for the Eagles at 79th with 91.
     
In combined doubles, Wyatt McCaghren was the team's top finisher with 181. He placed 61st overall. In combined singles, Ziarko was 21st with 196. In combined skeet, Tucker was the leader for the team with 191. He finished 21st overall. In combined sporting, Lane Klohn had the best finish for the Eagles with 175. He was 33rd overall. In combined trap, Ziarko was the team's top finisher with 189. He placed 45th overall.

On the women's side, Karlee McCaghren was 90th overall in combined doubles with 126. Cox was 102nd with 118. In combined singles, Cox was 84th with 167. McCaghren was 114th with 149. In combined skeet, Cox was 90th with 144. McCaghren was 95th with 137. In combined sporting, Cox was 52nd with 147. McCaghren was 82nd with 133. In combined trap, Cox was 102nd with 141. McCaghren was 104th with 138. 

In American Skeet, Cox placed 106th with 75, while McCaghren was 113th with 73. In American Trap, Cox was 67th with 92, while McCaghren was 138th with 76. In doubles American Skeet, Cox was 87th with 69, while McCaghren placed 97th with 64. In doubles American Trap, McCaghren was 99th with 62, while Cox was 118th with 49. In Super Sporting, Cox placed 62nd with 79, while McCaghren was 105th with 68. In Sporting Clays, Cox was 46th with 68, while McCaghren was 60th with 65.
