HOW IT HAPPENED
Richardson, Texas-The Eagles held a 1-0 lead in the second half only to have Texas Dallas score two quick back-to-back goals to pull out a 2-1 win in the semi-finals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Tuesday in Richardson, Texas. It was a tough loss for the Eagles as the Comets eliminated head coach Aaron Brueckner's team from the post-season. After a scoreless first half, Francisco Horta delivered a penalty kick goal in the 64^th minute. But the Comets responded with a penalty kick goal of their own in the 78^th minute. The Comets then netted a goal less than one minute later to hold a 2-1 advantage. While the Eagles produced a strong second half, it was too difficult to overcome the Comets' second goal. The Eagles created 11 second half shots. In the end, the Eagles held a 17-15 shots advantage.
