Men’s Tennis Team Competes In ASC Tournament

Abilene, Texas-The men's tennis team competed in the American Southwest Conference Individual Tournament over the weekend in Abilene, Texas.

Head Coach Cullen Dees was pleased with his team's effort.

"It was a great weekend for everyone on the team," said Dees. "We played a lot of matches and did well. We had some tough first round matches, but I was really proud of the way we battled back. We competed throughout the weekend. I think we are ready for the ITA tournament."
    
Sebastian Ricard advanced to the finals of singles consolation flight #1 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Conner Mason from East Texas Baptist. In flight #4, Jacob Organ advanced to the finals of the consolation round. Adam Barnett won consolation singles flight #6 after taking a win over Chase Van Cleave from Mary Hardin-Baylor. Cole Lankford lost in the finals of consolation singles flight #7. Bryce Johnson took a hard-fought 4-6, 6-1 (10-5) win in singles flight #8 to advance to the consolation finals. Akevion Cunningham defeated Alex Hernandez from LeTourneau 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the finals of consolation singles flight #9. In doubles flight #3, Organ and Ricard advanced to the consolation finals.

Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament September 30-October 2.
