Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight Non-Conference Match

Aaron Gambrell and the men's tennis team gave the Senior Class a 7-0 win over Howard Payne University on Senior Day Saturday.

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's tennis team gave the Senior Class a 7-0 win over Howard Payne University on Senior Day Saturday.

The Eagles swept doubles play to open the match. At No. 1 in the lineup, Hikaru Yamaya and Haruto Kanskau defeated Hunter Green and Micah Hunter 8-2. At the No. 2 spot, TJ Saniseng and Joshua Wilde defeated Nicolas Gates and Logan Knight 8-7. At the No. 3 spot, Aaron Gambrell and Dallas Elmore took a win over Christian Fernandez and Landon Ferree 8-1. In singles competition, Haruto Kanskau topped Logan Knight 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot. In the No. 2 position, Hikaru Yamaya defeated Hunter Green 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 3 spot Aaron Gambrell topped Micah Hunter 6-1, 6-3. At the No. 4 spot, Joshua Wilde defeated Landon Ferree 6-0, 6-0. TJ Saniseng and Nico Castells went unfinished.

The program's five seniors – Kaitlin Gutierrez, Anna Claire Ryan, Tori Woods, Dallas Elmore, and Haruto Kanskau - were honored prior to the match.

In the second match of the day, NCAA II Newman University took a 9-0 win.

The Eagles will host Mary Hardin-Baylor March 13.
