Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman Kento Iwahara was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by the ASC Office Tuesday.

Iwahara, from Fukuoka, Japan, guided the Eagles to a 3-0 record during the week with an undefeated singles record and just one loss in doubles. Iwahara easily won 6-1, 6-0 against University of Dallas and posted a 6-3, 6-4 win against Sterling College at No. 2 singles. He capped his week with a big 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win to help the Eagles top LeTourneau. He teamed with Hikaru Yamaya at No. 1 doubles to go 2-1. Their wins came against University of Dallas (8-1) and Sterling College (8-4).

Iwahara has a team-best five singles wins this season.

Iwahara and the Eagles will host East Texas Baptist University March 31.
