Eagles End Season In ASC Tournament

The Eagles took on Concordia University Texas in the playoffs but lost 5-0.

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's tennis team ended its season at the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament after a 5-0 loss against Concordia University Texas Thursday in Richardson, Texas.

The Eagles end the season 9-9 overall and qualified for the Tournament for the ninth straight season. Concordia University Texas (15-4), regionally ranked at No. 11, swept doubles play to begin the match taking a quick 3-0 lead. At No. 1 doubles, Joshua Bode and Adrian Munguia defeated Hikaru Yamaya and Kento Iwahara 8-5. At the No. 2 spot, Esteban Arredondo and Joeri Bregman defeated Aaron Gambrell and TJ Saniseng 8-5. At No. 3, Daniel Beckles and Andres Padilla won 8-0 against Kao Lenkopane and Perry Guidry. In singles play, Joshua Bode topped Aaron Gambrell 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. At No. 5 singles, Esteban Arredondo defeated Sergio Munoz 6-2, 6-2. The rest of the matches were unfinished.
