Men's Tennis Edges John Brown University 5-4

The Eagles celebrate a win against John Brown University.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's tennis team hosted a Pink Out in front of a large crowd Thursday and didn't disappoint as the Eagles battled to a 5-4 win over in-state foe John Brown University.

The Eagles swept doubles play to own a 3-0 lead to start the day. Carlos Molero Llopis and Joshua Wilde defeated Hudson Dick and Brady Dick 8-6 at the No. 1 position. Kento Iwahara and Hikaru Yamaya took a 8-2 win against Andrew Aylor and Spencer Keeter at the No. 2 spot. At the No. 3 spot, Joseph Guidry and Kao Lenkopane defeated Carson Thoma and Negad Ezzat 8-7 (7-5).

Singles play proved to be a battle between the two teams.

Hudson Dick defeated Molero 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Iwahara defeated Spencer Keeter  6-1, 6-3. Negad Ezzat took a 6-3, 6-0 win over Wilde. Lenkopane defeated Carson Thoma 3-6, 6-2, 10-6. Brady Dick defeated Guidry  7-6, 6-7, 10-6 and Hayes Stark won 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 against Sergio Munoz .

In exhibition play, Mason Cary defeated Archie Martyn-Smith 6-0, 3-6, 10-5. Andrew Aylor defeated Ryan Rosalin 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 and Grant Hinkle defeated Logan Evans 6-1, 6-4.
