Rivett Homers Twice In Game One Win

GAME ONE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark.- Hayley Rivett homered twice and Morgan Haupt threw a six-hitter to lead the Eagles to a 10-3 win in game one. Margaret Blackstar smashed her first collegiate home run in the bottom of the second to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Prior to the homer, Kaylyn Soria made an outstanding defensive play from her third base position crashing into net in foul territory for an out. Aryonna Briggs ripped a double to left center field to push two more runs across the plate in the fourth. Allison Cowart dropped in a single down the right field line to score Briggs. With the Eagles cruising to a 6-2 lead after four, Rivett blasted a solo home run in the fifth to add an insurance run. Meanwhile, Morgan Haupt allowed just three hits through five complete innings. Cowart made a diving save to stop the threat in the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth, Rivett cranked out a three-run homer to make it 10-3. It was her eighth homer of the season. The Eagles finished with 13 hits. Cowart went 3-for-4. Rivett, Blackstar and Jessye Rowland had two hits. Rivett drove in four runs. Haupt struck out three in the win.

GAME TWO
Overview:
Sul Ross State University rallied from a 6-3 deficit to pick up a 8-6 win in game two. The Eagles recorded infield singles in the first and scratched across one run to lead 1-0. Mack Lucio had an RBI from an infield grounder to make it 2-0. Sul Ross came back in the top of the third to grab a 3-2 lead. The Eagles battled back in the bottom of the inning and scored once to even the contest 3-3. Allie Shero had a clutch double to score two runs and give the Eagles a 5-3 advantage.  Lucio recorded an infield single to score a run. But Sul Ross evened the score 6-6 on an RBI double and an RBI single in the sixth. With one out, the Lobos took the lead, 7-6, with an infield groundout. The Lobos then added another run in the seventh to make it 8-6. The Eagles outhit the Lobos 13-11. Five players had multi-hit games for the Eagles.
