    Clarksville, Ark.-119 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-Conference Team by the American Southwest Conference, it was announced by the league office August 2.

  • Forbes Caps Senior Day With Clutch Three-Pointer

    Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles scored 28 fourth quarter points, Lili Garcia poured in 26 points and Judy Forbes hit a big three-pointer to cap a Senior Day win over LeTourneau University 67-63. LeTourneau led 27-26 at halftime and then increased the advantage to 45-39 heading into the fourth quarter. But the Eagles turned it up a notch in the fourth hitting four three-pointers and making 14-of-18 from the free throw line. Just when it appeared LeTourneau would run away with the game, leading 49-40 with eight minutes left in the game, the Eagles surged on a 10-2 run. Garcia hit a big three-pointer at the 5:34 mark and Judy Forbes ignited the crowd with another three-pointer to even the score at 57-57. LeTourneau took a 61-59 lead with 1:27 left, but Garcia answered again with a clutch three-pointer at the 1:07 mark to put the Eagles up for good. With five seconds left, Garcia sank two free throws to give the Eagles a four-point advantage. Garcia finished with 26 points. She went 6-of-10 from the three-point line. Seniors Faith Curry and Judy Forbes were honored today in a Senior Day Celebration Ceremony. Curry finished with over 500 career points and over 100 career assists. Forbes finished withover 70 career blocks and nearly 400 career rebounds.
  • ETBU Women Top Eagles In ASC Home Game

    Clarksville, Ark. – East Texas Baptist University claimed a 77-55 win over the Eagles Thursday night behind a strong inside performance. The Tigers grabbed 43 rebounds in the game and scored 38 points in the paint while shooting 49 percent from the field. The Tigers held a 38-28 lead at halftime. The Eagles made a run to open the fourth quarter. Heaven Hayden drilled a three-pointer with 7:01 left to cut the deficit to 63-50. But the Tigers responded to build a lead later as the Eagles’ run came a little too late in the game. Amanda Turpin led the Eagles with 14 points.
  • Eagles Fall On The Road Against Mary Hardin-Baylor

    Belton, Texas – Mary Hardin-Baylor clamped down on defense holding the Eagles to a 23 percent shooting percentage from the field to take a 65-39 win on Saturday. The Crusaders led 31-19 at halftime. The Eagles would score 15 points in the third quarter, but the Crusaders held the Eagles to just five points in the fourth quarter to secure the game. Neither team shot the three-pointer well as the teams combined for just a 5-of-27 (18%) performance. Amanda Turpin led the Eagles with 11 points.  
  • Concordia Slips Past Eagles

    Austin, Texas – The Eagles started the game strong only to have Concordia come back for a 82-68 win Thursday night. The Eagles opened the first quarter with a 21-18 lead, but Concordia battled back to hold a 43-35 halftime advantage. The two teams went back-and-forth in the third quarter with Concordia leading 62-48 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, a Lili Garcia jump shot pulled the Eagles within 62-53. A three-pointer from Dalena Fisher cut it to 68-60. But Concordia scored 13 points in the final five minutes to secure the win. Amanda Turpin led the Eagles with 13 points. 
  • No. 8 Hardin-Simmons Uses Strong Defensive Effort To Upend Eagles

    Clarksville, Ark.-No. 8 Hardin-Simmons clamped down on defense holding the Eagles to 28 percent shooting from the field as the Cowgirls took a 59-44 win on Monday. The Eagles had a strong first quarter in which they led during that span. The Cowgirls would eventually lead 35-22 at halftime. The Cowgirls did extend their lead to 25 points in the second half. Amanda Turpin scored 12 points to lead the Eagles
  • Eagles Have Big Third And Fourth Quarter In Key Win
    February 04, 2023
    Clarksville, Ark.-After a tight first half, the Eagles caught fire and scored 50 second half points to take a key 80-61 win over McMurry University Saturday. The Eagles and Warhawks were tied 30-30 at halftime, but the Eagles hit four three-pointers in the third quarter and then in the fourth quarter went 11-of-16 from the field, including making four more three-pointers. Amanda Turpin drilled three from long range in the third quarter and McKenzie Greeson made two of her own in the fourth quarter. Three straight three-pointers in the third quarter allowed the Eagles to take over the game and McMurry could never catch up. The Eagles continued to put up points in the fourth quarter and led 71-51 with 6:30 remaining in the game. The Eagles went 13-of-36 from the three-point line in the game. Turpin had a strong all-around game scoring 18 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Turpin and Greeson finished with four three-pointers each.

  • Third Quarter Push Lifts Comets Over Eagles
    January 28, 2023
    Clarksville, Ark.-After a tight first half, UT Dallas turned up the defensive pressure to open the second half and came away with a 67-45 win over the Eagles Saturday. The Comets forced the Eagles into a scoring slump in the third quarter, scoring 15 points before the Eagles would score. By that time, the Comets led 42-27. In the third quarter, the Eagles went 2-of-11 from the field. This was after the Eagles had leads in the first and second quarter. Amanda Turpin’s three-pointer at the 8:37 mark of the second quarter put the Eagles in front 23-13. The Comets would eventually tie the game 27-27 going into halftime. Dalena Fisher led the Eagles with 13 points. 
  • Sul Ross State Outlasts Eagles
    January 21, 2023
    Alpine, Texas-Sul Ross State University used a 40-29 halftime lead to pull out a 79-61 win over the Eagles Saturday in conference play. Sul Ross took control of the game in the third quarter as it scored six straight points to hold a 46-29 lead. The Eagles never recovered. The Eagles launched 23 three-pointers in the game and hit eight for 34 percent. The Eagles shot an uncharacteristic 50 percent from the free throw line. McKenzie Greeson led the Eagles with 19 points, thanks to a 5-of-9 performance from the three-point line.
  • Eagles Net Big ASC Road Game

    Brownwood, Texas-The Eagles scored the game’s first bucket and never trailed after that taking a 60-44 win over Howard Payne University Thursday night in Texas. Neither team shot well from the field, but the Eagles did own an advantage (33% to 29%). The Eagles did make 12-of-15 from the free throw line in the game and held a 26-20 halftime lead. Howard Payne closed the deficit on a couple of occasions in the third quarter but could never catch up. A layup by Reagen Markham with over five minutes left in the game gave the Eagles a solid 48-34 lead. McKenzie Greeson came off the bench to lead the Eagles with 13 points.

    Marshall, Texas-East Texas Baptist University forced the Eagles into 34 turnovers as the Tigers posted a 79-39 win Saturday in conference play. The Eagles trailed 47-21 at halftime. For the game, the Tigers shot over 50 percent from the field while holding the Eagles to 27 percent. The Eagles came out of halftime and struggled offensively scoring only six points in the third quarter. McKenzie Greeson came off the bench to lead the Eagles with nine points, all of which came from the three-point line. 
  • LeTourneau Uses Strong Fourth Quarter To Upend Eagles
    January 12, 2023
    Longview, Texas-LeTourneau University had a big fourth quarter to push past the Eagles 62-46 Thursday night in conference play. Leading 42-38, LeTourneau scored 20 fourth quarter points while holding the Eagles to eight. A McKenzie Greeson bucket at the 6:59 mark pulled the Eagles within 46-41. But LeTourneau then outscored the Eagles 16-5 in the remainder of the game. The Eagles had an off night shooting, hitting only 28 percent from the field and 55 percent from the free throw line. Makya Perryman led the Eagles with ten points.
  • Late Back-To-Back Three's Push Eagles Past Concordia
    January 07, 2023
    Clarksville, Ark.-Dalena Fisher and Layla Powell hit back-to-back three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles take a 70-63 win over Concordia University Texas Saturday. The Eagles trailed the entire third quarter and for most of the fourth quarter until Fisher hit the go-ahead bucket at the 3:48 mark. Powell would hit her second three of the quarter one minute later to give the Eagles a 65-60 lead. Concordia answered with a bucket, but Lili Garcia hit a clutch shot and Powell made two clutch free throws for the Eagles down the stretch. Concordia held a 37-32 halftime lead. In the game, the Eagles hit 23 free throws, while Concordia made just eight. Powell led the team with 16 points. She hit 3-of-4 from the three-point line.
  • No. 23 Mary Hardin-Baylor Upends Eagles
    January 05, 2023
    Clarksville, Ark.-No. 23 Mary Hardin-Baylor grinded out a 76-56 win over the Eagles Thursday night in conference play. The Eagles forced the Crusaders into a first half battle. Mary Hardin-Baylor led 42-38 at halftime as the Eagles hung within striking distance. However, the Crusaders slowly pulled away in the third quarter. The Eagles went cold scoring only nine points in the quarter to allow the Crusaders to gain a 60-47 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The much bigger Crusaders recorded 47 rebounds in the contest. Heaven Hayden led the Eagles with 13 points off the bench.
  • Eagles Come Up Short At Hendrix
    December 30, 2022
    Conway, Ark. – Hendrix College used a 36-28 halftime lead to upend the Eagles 65-57 Friday in Conway. The Warriors benefited from ten three-pointers in the game, while the Eagles hit only two. In the third quarter, Brittany Temple hit a jumper to pull the Eagles within 44-41 with two minutes left. Hendrix would then hold a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Warriors held a 60-47 lead with less than five minutes in the game. The Eagles did close the gap to six points later but the deficit was too big to overcome. Makya Perryman led the Eagles with 14 points.
  • Nationally Ranked Hardin-Simmons Cruises Past Eagles

    Abilene, Texas – No. 23 Hardin-Simmons built a 49-20 halftime lead and the Eagles never recovered as the Cowgirls won 82-48 Saturday in Texas. The Cowgirls pulled down 62 rebounds and had 32 second chance points to overwhelm the Eagles. The Eagles hit 26 percent from the field in the game, while Hardin-Simmons hit 39 percent. Amanda Turpin led the Eagles with ten points. Hardin-Simmons won in the paint outscoring the Eagles 50-18.
  • Eagles Surge In Second Half For A Comeback Win
    December 15, 2022
    Abilene, Texas – The Eagles overcame a 53-45 fourth quarter deficit to even their conference record to 2-2 with a 72-70 win over McMurry University Thursday night. The Eagles trailed 56-47 two minutes into the fourth quarter before making a comeback. The Eagles surged on a run 8-0 run to pull within 56-55. Brittany Temple’s jumper with 4:19 left in the game gave the Eagles a 61-60 lead. Amanda Turpin’s layup and made free throw lifted the Eagles to a 68-67 advantage and a lead it wouldn’t relinquish with 19 seconds left in the game. In an odd turn of events, McMurry was awarded six free throw shots in the final seven seconds of the game.  But the Eagles kept the lead the entire time. The Eagles trailed 42-28 at halftime. The Eagles had a strong night rebounding the ball holding a 56-40 advantage. Judy Forbes pulled down 15 boards, while Amanda Turpin recorded 11. Layla Powell came off the bench to record a career night at Ozarks. Powell scored 19 points to lead the Eagles. Powell went 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Forbes (12 points) and Turpin (11 points) both had double-doubles for the Eagles.
  • Eagles ASC Drop Road Game

    Richardson, Texas – Texas Dallas opened the first quarter with a 18-7 lead and never let the Eagles back into the game as the Comets cruised to a 70-45 win Wednesday night. The Comets led 34-24 at halftime and then extended their lead to 52-33 after three quarters. It was a tough night shooting the ball as both teams struggled, with Texas Dallas owning a 38 percentage. The Eagles made 31 percent from the field in the game. The Eagles committed 24 turnovers to make a comeback difficult. Amanda Turpin scored nine points to lead the Eagles.
  • Amanda Turpin Scores 31 In Overtime Win
    December 03, 2022
    Clarksville, Ark. – Amanda Turpin scored 31 points to lead the Eagles to a thrilling 72-67 overtime win against Howard Payne University on Saturday. Turpin would hit a clutch jumper with 15 seconds remaining in regulation to put the Eagles in front. Just as the Eagles appeared to have the win, Howard Payne made a tough three-pointer that bounced around the rim and eventually dropped in to send the game into overtime. A Lili Garcia three-pointer ignited the Eagles in overtime as the freshman drilled a shot to give the Eagles a lead it wouldn’t relinquish with 3:45 left. The Eagles led 25-22 at halftime. Entering the fourth quarter, the Eagles trailed 40-34. But Turpin would score 13 fourth quarter points to put the Eagles into a favorable comeback position.  
  • Eagles Drop ASC Opener

    Clarksville, Ark. – Sul Ross State University controlled the game from the start and never let the Eagles in the game as the Lobos opened conference play with a 96-60 win Thursday. The Eagles struggled from the field all night and finished hitting just 3-of-23 (13.0%) from the three-point line. The Lobos also forced 23 turnovers against the Eagles. The Lobos pulled down 53 rebounds and scored 44 points inside the paint. Amanda Turpin scored 13 points to lead the Eagles. Reagen Markham and Layla Powell each added ten points. 
  • Eagle Features: A Student Perspective

    Clarksville, Ark.-Nine University of the Ozarks students recently wrote feature stories on current student-athletes at University of the Ozarks. Under the direction of Professor Susan Edens, the students wrote the content and produced pictures/video of the featured student-athletes. The project was part of Edens' Fall 2022 Sports Broadcasting Class. The content was posted on the Athletic Department social media channels.
