THE BASIC
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles had an outstanding night shooting the ball en route to a season-opening 83-79 win over Hendrix College Tuesday night. The Eagles hit over 60 percent from the three-point line, free throw line and the field. The Eagles held a 40-31 halftime lead, but Hendrix caught fire in the fourth quarter. The Eagles led 62-53 to begin the fourth only to have Hendrix eventually take the lead. Amanda Turpin hit a jumper to even the score 75-75 with 2:18 remaining. From there, the Eagles were strong from the free throw line hitting 8-of-8 the remainder of the game. Turpin scored 28 points in her debut for the Eagles. In the game, the Eagles hit 65 percent from the field, 61 percent from the three-point line and 78 percent from the free throw line.
