Third Quarter Push Lifts Comets Over Eagles

THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark.-After a tight first half, UT Dallas turned up the defensive pressure to open the second half and came away with a 67-45 win over the Eagles Saturday. The Comets forced the Eagles into a scoring slump in the third quarter, scoring 15 points before the Eagles would score. By that time, the Comets led 42-27. In the third quarter, the Eagles went 2-of-11 from the field. This was after the Eagles had leads in the first and second quarter. Amanda Turpin's three-pointer at the 8:37 mark of the second quarter put the Eagles in front 23-13. The Comets would eventually tie the game 27-27 going into halftime. Dalena Fisher led the Eagles with 13 points.

TURNING POINT
The Comets opened the third quarter on a 15-0 run before the Eagles would score.

Dalena Fisher had a solid afternoon hitting 5-of-9 from the field to score 13 points. Fisher also pulled down three rebounds.
