Conway, Ark.-The men's wrestling team placed third in the Central Baptist College Mustang Invitational Saturday and the Eagles had two tournament winners.

In all, five wrestlers finished among the top-four in their respective weight classes. Shelton Chastain won the tournament title at 125. Ka'Ron Lewis won the tournament title at 285. Jaylen York placed second at 157. Cameron Cook placed fourth at 165 and RC Morris placed fourth at 184.

"Finishing among the top-three in a predominately scholarship-program event was great for our team," said head coach Vinny Barber. "I'm extremely pleased with how our guys went out and competed this weekend. We are continuing to see progress in all our guys. Cameron and RC had strong showings pulling out top-four finishes. Shelton won his first college tournament. His continued growth is exciting to watch. Jaylen looked solid and is continuing to progress up at 157. Ka'Ron proved again why he is one of the best heavyweights in the country with wins over nationally ranked opponents en route to a tournament title." 

Chastain won by fall over Stephen DaBelko (Central Christian College) 2-1 (Fall 5:10) in the championship match. In the quarterfinals, Chastain won by major decision over Jake Stanton (Oklahoma Wesleyan ) 3-2 (MD 14-2). In the semifinals, Chastain won by major decision over Ty Ferguson (Lyon College) 1-2 (MD 15-5).

Lewis won by decision over Byron Pierce (Midway University ) 17-6 (Dec 4-0) in the championship match. In the quarterfinals, Lewis won by fall over Garine Gibson (Avila University) 11-3 (Fall 2:42). In the semifinals, Lewis won by decision over Griffin Qualls (Avila University) 16-5 (Dec 2-1). 

The Eagles will travel to Poteau for the Carl Albert College Dual January 19.
