France Day Five - Exploring Like A Local

The soccer teams pose for a picture in Lyon.

Hi everyone, my name is Hope Hensley, and I will be your tour guide from the other side of the world as the women's and men's soccer team travels thoughout France. Our plan is to post something every day about our journey...follow along here - Merci!

France Day Five - Exploring Like A Local

Today was adventure day - we went to the open market and saw local pastries on one side of the river and a craft market on the other side of the river. We were able to see local artwork and handmade jewelry.

For lunch we went to Pilo, which is a newer restaurant in Lyon, and they were kind enough to turn the USA vs Sweden round of 16 match on for us. It wasn't the outcome we wanted, but it was fun to see the staff and people around us also watching the game.

After lunch, Ms. Flo sent us out on a photo contest to explore, learn and find out more about Lyon. Following the photo contest, we took the metro to Flo's houseboat and learned how to make crepes.

"I really enjoyed the day and getting to learn more about Lyon from my own perspective," said senior Alex Kasper. "Learning how to make crepes was very interesting, but I loved getting to make my own version."
