HOW IT HAPPENED
Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles won their seventh match of the season with a solid 3-1 win over Sul Ross State University Thursday afternoon. The Eagles finally begin conference play against Howard Payne University September 30. Senior Day will follow the match against Howard Payne, which is slated for 2:00 p.m. Against Sul Ross, the Eagles gave up a goal in the 19th minute as the Lobos possessed the ball early on. However, things changed when the Eagles got a goal just before halftime from Allieysia Jiles. It was the freshman's first collegiate goal. The Eagles used that momentum in the second half to establish control of the match behind a speedy attack. In the 66th minute, Alex Kasper ripped a ball past the Sul Ross goalkeeper to make it 2-1. Just minutes later, Taliana Schmidt chipped one in over the keeper's head to give the Eagles a firm 3-1 lead. Both teams produced nine shots. Kasper had two shots on goal.
