HOW IT HAPPENED
Clarksville, Ark. – Hardin-Simmons University scored a goal with under two minutes to play in the first half and then added four more goals in the second half to take a 5-0 win over the Eagles on Saturday. The Eagles end the season tied for the most wins in program history with eight and set a new shutout records with six. It was also the program's second best season on record with a 8-8-1 overall mark. The Eagles also opened the season with a program best 7-2-0 record. The Eagles' defense played well in the first half keeping the Cowgirls out of the back of the net until the 43rd minute. Hardin-Simmons seemed to use that goal to ignite its offense in the final 45 minutes. The Cowgirls took 13 second half shots and scored in the 59th minute and then added a goal three minutes later to secure the match.
