Women’s Tennis Team Opens ASC Play With 9-0 Win

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's tennis team opened American Southwest Conference play with a 9-0 win over Louisiana College Friday.
    
Prior to the match seniors Elly Eibes, Aaron England, Bryant Ford, Travis Leach and Alix Tiegs were honored for their contributions to the tennis program as part of Senior Day.

"We are excited to start conference play with a win," said head coach Cullen Dees. "We played solid doubles and smart singles, exactly the way we needed to. Now, we will prepare for John Brown tomorrow."

Ozarks (2-6, 1-0 ASC) started the day with impressive wins in doubles action. Imani Doyle and Eibes, playing the No. 2 position, and Olivia Allard and Maggie Johnson at No. 3 posted 8-0 wins. Kayla Tucker and Paige Myers took an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. In singles play, the Eagles cruised to easy wins, including Myers, Eibes, Allard and Johnson each earning 6-0, 6-0 victories. Tucker, playing No. 1 singles, battled to a 4-6, 6-3 (10-5) win. Doyle had a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 3. Louisiana College falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in ASC play.

Ozarks will host John Brown University April 2.
