Women's Track Wraps Up Championships; Weathers Named Outstanding Freshman

Chloe Weathers was name the ASC Freshman of the Year at the Track Championships.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's track team wrapped up competition at the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Championships in Abilene, Texas, today.

Chloe Weathers had a strong weekend as she was named the ASC's Most Outstanding Freshman. Weathers also earned All-Conference Second Team after finishing second in the 1500. She ran a 4:59.96. 

The Eagles scored 24 points and placed seventh overall at the Championships. It was the most points scored at the Championships since the 2019 season.

In the 1500-meter, Solena Martinez Aleman ran a 6:30.04 to place 18th. Marcela Valladares placed 20th with a time of 7:40.90 and Mileidy Espinoza placed 21st with a time of 7:55.61. Chloe Boyer placed eighth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:27.53. Weathers was the team's highest finisher in the 5,000-meter with a fifth-place finish. She ran a 21:18.85. Alma Ramirez placed 12th with a time of 24:00.38. The Eagles ran in the 4x400 relay and placed fifth with a time of 5:47.62. The team comprised of Bohyer, Espinoza, Valladares and Aleman.
