Rewa Chababo Named NWCA Wrestler of the Month

Rewa Chababo was name the NWCA Region Wrestler of the Month.

Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks freshman wrestler Rewa Chababo was named the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Region V Wrestler of the Month.
     
Chababo, a native of Houston, Texas, becomes the first Ozarks wrestler to garner NWCA Wrestler of the Month honors.
     
Chababo went 5-0 in January with four pins. She won the Tornado Open, winning all three matches, including a 2-1 decision over fifth-ranked Cristina Santoyo of Emmanuel College.
     
Chababo is now eligible for NWCA National Wrestler of the Month.
     
"This shows her dedication and hard work are paying off," said head coach Charlotte Fowler. "We hope to have others from the team follow in her footsteps as we continue to build the program. We are looking forward to our future competitions as we prepare for nationals." 
     
The Eagles will now head to Illinois to compete in the McKendree Bearcat Open February 5.
