Clarksville, Ark.-The women's wrestling team opened the 2023-2024 season in Texas against Schreiner University and Texas Wesleyan University on Wednesday.

The Eagles were defeated 33-14 against Schreiner and lost 38-5 against Texas Wesleyan.  

"For our first time out I am extremely pleased with how our ladies competed," said head coach Vinny Barber. "They fought extremely hard and I am excited to get back in the room with them this week. We have a few areas of work we need to focus on, but these ladies are doing great!" 

Against Schreiner, April Stanley posted a victory by fall against Brooke Wieczorek in the 130-pound class. Diriann Porras had a technical fall over Maya Khabbaz at 143. Rewa Chababo recorded a fall against Symphanie Sampson at 191. Against Texas Wesleyan, Chababo posted a forfeit win.
