Five Named To Academic All-District Team

Five University of the Ozarks student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women?s Track and Field and Cross Country Academic All-District Team.

Clarksville, Ark. – Five University of the Ozarks student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Academic All-District Team, it was announced Wednesday (May 31).    
     
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the field of competition and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.   
     
The honorees included Mileidy Espinoza, a junior political science and psychology major from Costa Rica; Alisone Guzman, a junior health science and business administration major from El Salvador; Solena Martinez Aleman, a junior business administration and health science major from Nicaragua; Alma Ramirez, a junior psychology and communication studies major from Nicaragua; and Marcela Valladares, a junior psychology and business administration major from Russellville. Each also received American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference honors for the 2022-23 academic year and have been on both the Dean's List and President's List while at Ozarks. 
     
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to the team (having competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions), and be enrolled at the institution for at least 12 months.
