GAME ONE
Overview:
Concordia University Texas struck out 13 batters and scored the decisive run in the fifth inning to pull away from the Eagles and earn a 4-2 victory Friday night in the conference opener for both squads. The Eagles grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second on a Josh Woolly RBI single and a Patrick Mixon solo home run. Concordia scored a run in the bottom half of the inning and eventually tied the game in the fourth. Concordia tripled in a run and then had a sacrifice RBI to take the lead for good. The Eagles recorded just two hits after giving up the lead. Starting pitcher Gyeongju Kim was impressive as he struck out the first three batters he faced. He then had a strikeout in the next three innings. Kim allowed just four hits over six innings of work, but was charged with the loss. Josh Woolly went 2-for-4 for the Eagles.
