GAME ONE
Overview:
Austin College scored two runs in extra innings to hand the Eagles a season-opening 7-5 loss Sunday. The Eagles trailed for most of the game, but tagged the Kangaroos for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Rennie Arjona produced an RBI single and Erick Aguirre followed with a sacrifice RBI to even the score 2-2. The Eagles would later score on an error to take the lead and then James Cross added an RBI to make it 4-2. However, the Kangaroos got both runs back in the sixth to tie the game 4-4. Both teams scored a run in the seventh, with Trey Vance ripping an RBI single to left field. That pushed the seventh-inning contest into extras where Austin College plated two runs on just one hit in the top of the eighth. The first run came on a bases loaded walk and the second came on a balk. Austin College finished the game with three straight outs against the Eagles. A combined seven errors were committed on a day that saw temperatures barely get above freezing. Each team produced seven hits, with Alex Ray having the team's only multi-hit game in the loss. Connor Rowe was charged with the loss in relief. He tossed two innings and gave up two hits with four strikeouts.

Alex Ray had the team's only multi-hit game in the loss. He finished 2-for-2 at the plate.

GAME TWO
Overview:
The Eagles scored the game-winning run on an Austin College error in the bottom of the sixth to complete a 5-4 comeback win Sunday in game two. Austin College plated three runs in the first inning against starter Blake Benson. The Eagles scored once in the first on Frank Yachovich's RBI single and then wouldn't score again until the fifth. Arjona had an RBI single to jumpstart the offense. Luke Morrison followed with another RBI single to even the score. Yackovich was credited with an RBI on a groundout to push the Eagles in front 4-3. Austin College did tie the score in the top of the sixth. Kris Sloan tossed the final inning to receive the win. He fanned two. Benson struck out six in four innings of work. Morrison went 2-for-3 at the plate and Yachovich drove in two for the offense.

Notables:
Kris Sloan was impressive against the three batters he faced. Sloan struck out his first batter and then followed with a fly out. He fanned his final batter to end the game.

The Eagles will travel to Alpine, Texas, to face Sul Ross State University February 26-27.
