GAME ONE
Overview:
The Eagles opened the game with a 5-0 lead but allowed Sul Ross State to score six runs over the next two innings to take momentum and eventually win 11-10 in a wild American Southwest Conference contest Saturday. The Eagles scored twice in the first, once in the second and twice in the fourth. The Lobos came right back to scored three runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to take the lead. The Eagles answered with two runs in the sixth only to have Sul Ross score twice. After seven complete innings, Sul Ross led 10-8. The Eagles responded with two runs in the eighth to even the contest but the Lobos again scored in the bottom half of the eighth to take the lead for good. The Eagles had 13 hits, but Sul Ross had 16. Erick Aguirre was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. Rodney Valdes started and went four innings. He fanned six.
