Eagles Baseball Splits With Louisiana College

The Eagles won 13-0 against Louisiana College Thursday.

GAME ONE
Overview:
A rough first inning allowed Louisiana College to hold off the Eagles as the Wildcats won 6-4. The Eagles gave up four runs on three hits in the first inning to trail early on. Starter Dylan Kuester then allowed just four hits until the seventh. The Eagles crossed the plate twice in the third and then got a two-run homer from Erick Aguirre to even the score 4-4 in the fourth. But the Eagles wouldn't score again and the Wildcats generated two runs in the top of the seventh. Kuester would finish with nine strikeouts but was charged with the loss. Aguirre, Rey Lozano and Trey Vance each had two hits.

Notables:
Dylan Kuester fanned nine in his outing to bring his season total to 46. 

GAME TWO
Overview:
The Eagles rebounded from a tough game one loss and took a 10-1 win in the second game of Saturday's double-header. The Eagles plated three runs in the first and two runs in the second to take momentum. Starter Blake Benson pitched shutout baseball until the sixth inning. Lozano produced an RBI in the first, two more in the second and one in the fourth. Aguirre drove in two runs in the fourth and Ben Cross hit a two-run homer in the fourth to put the Eagles in front 9-0. Benson threw eight innings to receive the win. He finished with five strikeouts and one walk. Lozano finished a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI.

Notables:
The Eagles have already clinched a spot in the playoffs. Rey Lozano is chasing the ASC batting title. He owns a .468 batting average, which is among the top-2 at press time.
