UT Dallas Baseball Team Handles Eagles In Double-Header

GAME ONE
Overview:
UT Dallas had a big third inning scoring four runs and Comet pitcher Carter Cochrane had a shutout going for six innings to top the Eagles 8-1 in game one. The Comets scored four runs on three hits in the third and then plated two more runs in the fifth to hold a 6-0 lead. Erick Aguirre broke the shutout with a solo home run in the top of the seventh. The Eagles ended the game with seven hits, while the Comets recorded ten. Aguirre and Trey Vance had two hits.

GAME TWO
Overview:
The Comets pounded out 18 hits against five Eagle pitchers and exploded for eight runs in the eighth inning to hand the home team a 20-6 setback in game two. The Eagles opened the game with two runs in the first inning, but wouldn't score again until the seventh inning. At that point, the Eagles trailed 7-5. However, the Comets hit a grand slam, hit a three-run homer and recorded an RBI single in the eighth to put the game away. Luke Morrison hit a three-run homer in the seventh and finished 3-for-4 with 5 RBI.

Notables:
The Eagles have already clinched a spot in the playoffs and will await playoff seeding tomorrow from the ASC.
